You

You are the charm in my bracelet.
You are the rhyme to my cadence.
You are the ink on these pages,
And we are a love for the ages.

I must’ve summoned you,
For it appears that we were fated.
And though my friends asked,
I couldn’t bring myself to rate it.

You felt as though I’d dreamed it.

Meeting you,
I couldn’t conceive it.

You did not come to me crashing,
But you may as well have.
My life before was sentence,
To which you brought paragraph.

If I were a joke,
Then you would surely be the laugh.
If I were ballet,
You would be the dance I choreograph.

I’ve never met a soul,
So effortlessly good.
You chose to stand by my side,
And I knew you always would.

With you,
I am always understood.

If I were rain,
You’d be the sunshine that follows.
For I do love you,
For now and all of our tomorrows.
