The Addict
“You’re an addict”
And no,
I don’t mean to attack it.
What I mean is,
It’s drastic,
It requires prophylaxis.
Relax sis,
What I mean is,
We don’t want delirium tremens.
Your brain can’t neurotransmit,
Because you’ve made the high,
A sort of habit.
You know,
‘Cause you’re an addict.
And no,
I’m not one for dramatics.
What I mean is..
What’s sad is..
It’s systematic.
Not only that,
It’s automatic.
Autonomically synaptic.
It’s diagnosed.
It’s symptomatic.
You think of yourself,
As charismatic.
Like this is a movie,
And you’re cinematic.
But you’re not.
You’re problematic.
The stealing…
The lying…
The hurting…
That shit was traumatic.
That’s the only time you’ll admit it,
Is when you are erratic.
And it’s tragic,
Because you’ll only hide behind it.
But then,
You finally admit it.
And you say,
“I’m an addict.”
