Mother's Day

The lilies jumped,
Right from their cliff.

The daffodils ran ahead,
Desperate to come with.

The roses and carnations,
Well,
They ran together.

But the figs stayed home,
As they were under the weather.

The tulips shed their roots,
And indeed made haste.

Then the daisies joined in,
And picked up their pace.

As to why?

Who’s to say?

But the flowers,
It seems,
Have all run away.

But you’ll never believe it,
It appears they’ve been tamed.

As I’ve just found them all,
In a beautiful bouquet.
I hope you can feel them,
From your side of the grave.

They’ve gathered here,
Just for you,

Happy Mother’s Day.
