Fracture

Searching for myself,
There I went,
Around the bend,
And back again.

I felt my life,
In the weathered grooves of trees.
The wildflowers whispered,
Their epiphanies.

I found answers from the sun,
Dipping below the earth’s bunker.

Light speckled the sky,
Enthralled,
A star-crossed lover.

I heard their tales,
Of grandiosity,
And of heroes.

I heard their epics,
Of romances,
And of foes.

I bathed in moonlight,
Dancing with the others.
Women beneath the willow,
Our feet were wild thunders.

When the dawn came,
I did not stumble or stagger.

I was wild and light and sky.
Someone that nobody can fracture.
