Astronaut

She rewrote the cosmos.

She was an astronaut,
Of the wild.

She was justice,
Reconciled.

She was a storm,
In a bottle.

She was granite,
She was marble.

She rode the wind,
She had it saddled.

God.

She was freedom,
And she was a marvel.

So she wrote poems,
Like they were novels.

She captured the stars,
And harnessed their sparkles.

She put them into words,
As permanent fossils.

For she was a poet,
And her word was gospel.
